Today was the final of our Global week. The children finished by making some Japanese rice flour cakes and some origami.
Passport control took place for the afternoon as the children jetted off around the world to visit other countries which have been the focus for this week.
Well done to Amy, Maisie, Alex, Matthew, Jacques and Ethan who were the tour guides for Japan and shared their knowledge with the visiting classes.
The images below are the Powerpoint which Amy D put together! Well done Amy!
On your trips around the World this afternoon, what did you find out?

Sachiko Hojo Smale
This afternoon Sachiko Hojo Smale talked to the class about Japanese Culture. How many new facts have you learnt about Japan now?
Well done to the mum's who managed to follow the Origami instructions to make their own helmets!
Haiku
Today the children have been writing Japanese Haiku.
Haiku are Japenese poems. They are special because they always have three lines. The first line contains 5 syllables, the second line contains 7 syllables
and the third line contains 5 syllables. Haikus use words to paint a picture.
Haikus don't use rhyming words. They are usually related to nature.
Here are some of the children's examples. Enjoy and please feel free to comment.
