Global Finale

Today was the final of our Global week. The children finished by making some Japanese rice flour cakes and some origami.

Passport control took place for the afternoon as the children jetted off around the world to visit other countries which have been the focus for this week.

Well done to Amy, Maisie, Alex, Matthew, Jacques and Ethan who were the tour guides for Japan and shared their knowledge with the visiting classes.

The images below are the Powerpoint which Amy D put together! Well done Amy!

On your trips around the World this afternoon, what did you find out?

Sachiko Hojo Smale

This afternoon Sachiko Hojo Smale talked to the class about Japanese Culture. How many new facts have you learnt about Japan now?

Well done to the mum's who managed to follow the Origami instructions to make their own helmets!

Haiku

Today the children have been writing Japanese Haiku.

Haiku are Japenese poems. They are special because they always have three lines. The first line contains 5 syllables, the second line contains 7 syllables
and the third line contains 5 syllables. Haikus use words to paint a picture.
Haikus don't use rhyming words. They are usually related to nature.

Here are some of the children's examples. Enjoy and please feel free to comment.

School Life in Japan

Yoko Worby from Iwawaki Elementary School, on the island of Shikoku, Japan sent us some information about school life. What are the similarities and differences between our schools?
,

Kokeshi

It is thought that "kokeshi" is derived from wooden (ki, ko) or small (ko), and dolls (keshi).

Kokeshi dolls originate from the Tohoku region of Northern Japan, an area well-known for its onsen (hot spring) resorts. These handmade wooden dolls are thought to date back to the early 19th century when kijiya (woodworkers), accustomed to making bowls and trays, began using their woodworking skills and lathes to make simple dolls to sell as toys and souvenirs to the onsen visitors. The dolls may originally have had a spiritual significance with the kokeshi representing a wish for a healthy child.

The Bunyip

Ekala, which meant a lake, was very good at fishing. Ekala went to a lake far from her home. When Ekala got there she sat on the damp, wet bank with her bucket and rod. After a while Kalti, which meant a spear was getting worried because Ekala should be back by now.
Kalti set of to find Ekala. Quite a while later Kalti reached the lagoon . He saw on the damp, mossy bank was Ekala’s rod in two pieces. Now Kalti got very worried. Before he knew it, there was a dark shadowy shape of a Bunyip!
Just in time Kalti sprinted into the dark wood. The Bunyip was quite fast out of the water but Kalti just lost the Bunyip.
Suddenly in the distance was Ekala.
“You took some time!” shouted Ekala. Ekala was surrounded by mythical trees.
After a while Kalti had an idea. Ekala gathered long, thin twigs Kalti set them on fire and like his name he threw them into the air as a signal.
Kalti continued throwing fiery, Browne, twigs into the black, misty, sky. Nothing happened for a while suddenly twigs were sent back. “Ekala why didn’t you try to escape?” said Kalti “because the trees would not let me go” Ekala walked towards the tree’s but they would not let her. Stile nothing happened yet no one were in sight.
Finally, Kalti and Ekala thought they were here but it was the Bunyip growls came through the trees suddenly the Bunyips green, piercing, eyes were in sight. Ekala gathered more Sharpe twigs and gave them to Kalti. Just then the tribe lead the Bunyip away. They celebrated and the horrid Bunyip was never seen again

The Bunyip

Yuka, meaning great warrior, went out hunting in the deep, dark woods and disappeared! The tribe were worried he would never come back! The tribe sat and waited for ages but he still did not return. Yuka was making a hot, boiling fire to keep him warm for a couple of days. He was also surrounded by huge, white coolibah trees and big, green ferns. As Yuka carried on walking into the forest , he came to a misty, secluded lake. He listened to the crashing of the cascading waterfall and huge, moss covered boulders were as green as seaweed. There were some kookaburras up in the trees tweeting, laughing, singing.
One evening Burnum, meaning great finder, went to look for Yuka and he saw the fire that Yuka made to keep him warm. Burnum was now starting to get worried!! When Burnum walked further into the forest he came to the misty, secluded lake that Yuka had passed. Just as Burnum was about to cross the misty, secluded lake he saw a dark shadow which was exactly the same as a Bunyips shadow. As he was looking around a Bunyip rose from the wate “Burnum help me!” screamed Yuka.
The bad, ferocious Bunyip was very angry, he was howling loudly and growling like a lion! Burnum escaped from the Bunyip only because he ran as fast as a cheetah. The bunyip may be fast but he had to lift his wings out of the water and that made him faster than he was.
“Yuka where are you I am coming to rescue you “ observed Burnum. As he ran further into the forest he was surrounded by dark, stringy bark trees. He kept running and as he got really far into the forest he found Yuka guarded by two baby bunyips.
Yuka was worried they would never escape but Burnum had a plan.
“Yuka I have a plan” explained Burnum.
“With my bow and arrow I will shoot arrows into the sky and the tribe will see them and hopefully come in and lead us out of here” Burnum confessed.
“Well that is a good plan I feel fine now” Yuka shouted
“Well fine is fine” Burnum said awkwardly.
The tribe saw the arrows coming down towards the misty, secluded lake then when they think the arrows are down they will go. They waited for about twenty minutes and then they made their move to rescue Yuka and Burnum!
“Tribe come on the arrows have reached the ground” yelled one of the men from the front row of the tribe.
“Ok!” shouted the rest of the tribe,
“Off we go” they all commented.
They walked faraway into the forest, crossed the misty, secluded lake and found Yuka and Burnum. Yuka and Burnum were surrounded by dark, stringy bark trees and swooshing, white coolibah trees.
“How did you find us?” Yuka and Burnum asked,
“Easy just followed footprints and found the misty, secluded lake and crossed it and found you!” the tribe said.
As the sun was setting down the trees were just becoming dark posts. They went into their and got out some torches so they could see better and the rest of the tribe were not just dark posts anymore. They all stood up listened to some camp songs and had a huge party. The party was really good they danced all night long, and guess what the Bunyip was never seen again!!!!!!

Carina and Bunyip

Carina with her weather beaten dark brown face sat with her fishing rod near the dark mossy
lagoon. Suddenly something mysterious jumped out of the dark mossy lagoon jumped a bunyip appeared. Then Burnum was worried because Carina hadn’t come home. Burnum going into the dark forest to look for Carina and went into down to the lagoon but he saw her fishing rod but no sign of her.
Bunum sprinted into the damp dark forest because the hairy spotted Bunyip was chasing him. Burnum found carina in the rocky cave by the water’s edge. She had been captured by the hairy Bunyip.
Burnum had a plan but carina was very worried. They stepped out of the cave and swam under water. To get to the dark forest. Tribe the hairy Bunyip really, angrily and came trotting to Carina and Burnum. Saw the bunyip coming so Carina stood up and starting running and, the Bunyip was far behind.
So Carina and Burnum, stopped because the tribe people came, closer to the Bunyip. So the Bunyip sprinted and sprinted and one of the tribe people got an arrow and shot it at the Bunyip. And the tribe people took Burnum and Carina home and they celebrated and never saw the Bunyip again.

The Bunyip

Early morning, when the scorching, hot sun was hitting the land, Merda (meaning beautiful) sat down by a cold, gloomy cave was watching the big heavy boulders. The coolibah trees were swaying side to side like fingers. The kookaburras were way up in the height of trees laughing and squawking in a mean way. All of a sudden Merda vanished.
Later that day Burnam (meaning great warrior) was waiting by a river bank for ages he hadn't found Merda. They had found somewhere to sit down when a terrifying Bunyip swooped down with teeth like dragons. It was nearly the night and shadows came and it was getting spooky. This was a mysterious place.
Burnam sprinted through the dark dense forest because there was danger coming from a cave in a gloomy place. Just before it was too late Burnam leaped in the cave. There was Merda stuck in a cage. A Bunyip appeared from a misty cold lake. This fearsome creature had six eyes, a body like a Kangaroo and ghost for his babies. The Bunyip swam over to the cave.
After a while Burnam had a plan they would swim over to the other side of the lake so they did. They got to the cave and there were trees like green emeralds. There were flickers of fire in the black sky high above the mythical trees with his favourite bow.

The Bunyip

One day kiley, which meant a boomerang, decided that she would go for a walk. Kiley could see a rain forest up ahead so she went to investigate. As she went through the forest she could see, the trees swaying backwards and forwards and the joyful, bluebirds nesting in the emerald green
trees. Kiley had silver curly hair and dark, green eyes. As she walked further into the green grassy rain forest Kiley appeared to be standing right next to a lagoon. This place was very unusual.
Later that day Yuka, which meant a tree, was wondering where his wife was. Kiley was not back yet so Yuka went out to look for her. Yuka went through the same rain forest. Yuka had grey, wiry hair dark blue eyes and wrinkly skin which turns as pale as a white rose. All of a sudden a Bunyip appeared out of the lagoon!
Just in time Yuka managed to jump and turn away from the Bunyip. Yuka threw swords and arrows at the Bunyip but the Bunyip had miniature wings so he could fly far into the distance. so it wasn’t easy to fight him. At last Yuka managed to hide from the Bunyip in the bushes. The Bunyip had two beaks, scales all down his back, six legs and four tails. Up ahead Yuka could see a fast flowing water fall that was as beautiful as the biggest rainbow in the world. Yuka went to have a look.
As Yuka got closer to the shiny water fall it split in two! This made Yuka very suspicious. All Yuka could see was cages of bones and people from their village. Just at that moment Kiley called out “Help me”Yuka was so happy to hear Kiley’s voice again.
Yuka unlocked the cages and the kingdom went home. Yuka realised that to get home they would have to get past the Bunyip but Yuka had a plan! When the Bunyip wasn’t looking they would sneak past but first they would they would have to pick up all the sticks they could find because if the Bunyip spotted them they would have something to throw at him.
After a while when they had all the sticks they sneaked past. Luckily the bunyip didn’t see them. When they went through the rain forest they saw a reindeer running past and a monkey in the tree. Finally they were home and the kingdom rejoiced. Everything was happy again. The mysterious thing was the Bunyip was never seen
again!!!!!!!

Akala and the Bunyip

Akala , meaning river, disappeared when she went fishing through stringy bark trees and out of sight. Days went by but there was no sign of Akala anywhere. The tribe were missing Akala and they wondered where she had gone. The camp was in tears because they thought she might have
died. So the tribe went to look for her.
Elhaji a man from the tribe had a vision that Akala was being held in a cave and she could not get out. So Elhaji told the rest of the tribe to come to come back and that he had a vision that she was being trapped in a cave and that he would find her so he went through the trees were Akala was fishing. Suddenly a huge ugly creature a Bunyip rose from the water.
Elhaji ran through the forest where he saw a cave it looked exactly like the one from his vision so he went in where he saw Akala crying in the corner of the cave “how did you get here” Elhaji asked so Akala explained how the Bunyip chased her into the cave “now you’re stuck here as well” Akala said sadly.
“Don’t worry I have a plan pass me my bow and arrow”

So Elhaji got his arrow and shot a tree and the birds went flying in the sky over the camp
“This is never going to work” Akala cried

“Just wait” Elhaji said trying to cheer her up.
A man from the tribe saw the birds screeching in the sky and he knows something is wrong
“Men we need to go investigate” said Burnum a man from the tribe said to the rest of the camp.

Suddenly the tribe swung a vine down by the entrance of the cave
“ what’s that” said Akala
“It’s a rope the tribe have come to save us” Elhaji said in relief.
“grab on” said Burnum so Akala and Elhaji climbed up the rope.
Akala and Elhaji escaped lagoon and went back to camp. The camp sang there drought songs and the lagoon dried up but the bunyips bones were never found. The camp rejoiced in the camp that night because everyone was safe back at camp and the woods were forbidden to go to. But where did the Bunyip go?

Kylie, Kala and the dreaded Bunyip

Kala, meaning forest, was sat by the fire waiting for her friend kylie to come back from the stream but she never returned! Kylie was lost so she tried to make a fire by the green bushy coolibah trees. Kala was really worried about Kylie and decided to go out looking for her. Kylie stared at the fast crashing waterfall and listened to the baby kookaburra’s tweet and croak just wishing for somebody to find her. Kala set off to search for Kylie.

As dawn broke Kala was still looking for Kylie. Suddenly she saw a dark shadow. And before she new it a huge man eating Bunyip thrust out of the water. It had bright red eyes a bright red beak and bright red claws. His scales where deep green and he had teeth as sharp as daggers. Luckily Kala escaped from the Bunyip but ran into a dark, dirty cave and found Kylie what would happen next?
"Kala your here help me!" wailed Kylie.
"Come out from there, come to me!" shouted Kala
“I can't!” said Kylie

Kala carried Kylie out of the old, dirty, broken cave and as soon as they were about to leave the cave, which was once a Bunyips home, came crashing down. Thankfully Kala and Kylie got out of the cave and then Kala carried Kylie into a rabbits burrow although it was guarded by red fiery baby Bunyips. They couldent breath fire quite yet so they wernt as dangerous. Although they had teeth as sharp as daggers. Kylie was worried whether they would make it back or not but Kala had a mischievous plan she said “pass me thoughs twigs pass me that rope” and soon she would have the baby Bunyips. Wrapped up in rope “come on” screeched Kala she lit up her sticks and one by one they threw them at the Bunyips and the baby Bunyips homes the hole place lit up in flames.

Kylie and Kala managed to escape from the fire ,but there was no way out of the evil sticky gum trees. The twigs were as slimy as a snake that wrapped around you and squeezed you if you dared to move. Suddenly Kylie heard a fighting noise in the distance.
“Kala, Kala!” she screamed
“The tribe there hear to save us”. The wonderful tribe were hear. They lit up there candles and charged towards the trees. All Kala and Kylie could do was wait while the horrendous scene of fire and lightning proceeded through the night.

Finally as the sun rose the trees had gone the tribe were at there usual camp and Kala and Kylie woke up to find that they were back at the stream where they started and this place was a place of mystery stayed a mystery and the tribe acted like nothing ever happened and the Bunyips bones were never found again!

Burnum and the Bunyip

It was early morning and Stephanie was perched on the edge of the deep misty lake, surrounded by lots of weeds. Stephanie, which meant water, was quite good at fishing but was still learning. She had a rod and a basket because she was fishing. The fish she usually caught were browny, silver on the top and light brown on the bottom. Although she would usually go fishing sometimes she would sit on the edge and watch the cascading waterfall crashing on the large, brown boulders as heavy as cars. The boulders were covered in light, green moss on the outside and darker on the inside. This was a very mysterious place! A dangerous place!
Later that day Burnum , which meant great warrior, came to look for his wife because she said she would be home by early evening but she wasn’t. He went to the lake and found her rod and basket on the edge of the lake but she wasn’t there! It was early evening and the shadows of the trees were closing in making everything cool and dark. The smell of mossy damp boulders filled the air. All the fish had disappeared as a monstrous shadow broke out of the water lurking in the cave. Then suddenly out came a fearsome creature! It was almost too late as the huge, strange shape of the Bunyip loomed over Burnum!
Without warning Burnum, quickly rotated and headed into the deep, dark forest full of trees like old twisted fingers. Out of the water the fierce, menacing Bunyip was rather slow and stomped heavily. Its feet were as heavy as elephant feet but like a duck’s feet so it could swim better. The colours of the Bunyip were browny, grey so it could camouflage amongst the murky, shallow waters of the lagoon. Burnum however, soon got to the old, mysterious forest where he found Stephanie, locked up in a cage guarded by the fearsome Bunyip she was crying and wailing in pain because her fingers were twisted together to keep her locked by the Bunyip who was ten times the size of an average man! The warrior had a plan to escape and as he set her free he told her his plan. Soon she was out but suddenly the Bunyip blocked them and they were trapped!!
Luckily burnum, who had learned about this fearsome creature, earlier in his life, new that its only fear was fire!! So quickly burnum commanded, “Fetch me some nice, long sticks and hurry!” After a few minutes Stephanie came back with some pretty long sticks and Burnum, who had brought a box of match sticks, set a fire right beside the fierce, camoufladgable Bunyip. It screeched in horror stepped back and fell down the large, grassy hill and sprayed the water of the lagoon everywhere! Burnum got a bow and arrow put some yellow flares on it and fired it into the air.
“Hopefully the aboriginal tribe will see the flares and come to help us." Exclaimed Burnum. They sat there waiting for an hour for the tribe to come.
Soon afterwards the tribe were sat in there camp watching the sun starting to go down when suddenly an arrow shot into the air and the tribe leader yelled,
“Come on tribe we have to go to the forest full of cooliba trees! “In a flash the Aboriginal tribe were ready in action! They ran towards the deep, dark forest and eventually found them. They slowly trekked back and after about an hour they were back in the camp.
As they sat down they watched the sun go down and they danced to a piece of Australian music. They ate their supper in the tent, rejoiced and celebrated by singing and dancing to their favourite songs. Mysteriously the bones of the Bunyip were never found!

The Bunyip

Matties a strong ,brave daily mail deliverer and his best friend Yukha ,meaning tree ,who was better at Matties at everything went delivering mail to a haunted ,black, spooky house covered in green, mossy ivy with big, grey cliffs as big as a mountain surrounding the house with huge
boulders on top. Water was crashing really hard against the unstable cliffs .Trees were in the middle of the water that was as blue as the sky .The trees were shaped like a crooked man, branches were shaped like witches fingers .This was a mysterious place! It was dangerous! This is a place that no one’s ever been to.

After a few seconds when they were putting in the bent daily mail……..Suddenly! A wrinkly, big, freckly hand popped out and opened the door and dragged Matties and Yukha in the man with the wrinkly, big, freckly hand dragged them both up some wooden, brown stairs .He locked Matties and Yukha up in a small, metal cage with dark, blue sea surrounding them was a fierce, angry, blue shark with a spiky, green crocodile with rough skin. Soon Matties’s friend’s came. Matties screamed as loud as he possibly could
“Help someone please help! “
For a minute Matties and Yukha were petrified but when Carlies and Khali Matties’s and yukha’s friends came running quickly up the staircase to the chamber were Matties and Yukha .Carlies and Khali were great warriors however they had no plan of escaping .
Carlies the great warrior saw that there was a lock so Carlies sprinted down the stinky, brown staircase quickly while Carlies was searching for the key that fitted in the lock confidently Carlies the best at fighting strongly defeated the blue shark and the green crocodile .After a few seconds Carlies found the golden small key and rushed up to the chamber Matties, Yukha and Carlies,
unlocked the lock with the small key and shouted altogether
“Yay we did it lets escape”
Down the dusty corridors they, crept quickly down the ruined, rough, dented staircase but when they all got to the chipped door? Suddenly! A ferocious Bunyip quickly jumped out of a dented, brown cupboard its wings were dark red shaped like nachos so when it needed to fly it had it wings .Its tail was as long as two long green snakes its fangs were as white as clouds and as sharp as glass and was hanging from its golden beak.
“Think of a plan girls don’t just stand there think! “Exclaimed Yukha
“I’ve got a plan we fight the Bunyip or get him out of this creepy place out on our self “ said Khali In about half an hour to the fearsome Bunyip , The powerful adults managed to get the terrifying Bunyip out into a very dangerous world he was sleek in this world. It was a human world .Then the sleek Bunyip as sleek as a page from a dictionary its green, scally tail that’s like two snakes long hit the huge, grey unstable cliffs with the mossy damp boulders on fell back onto the horrible, mean terrifying monster.

Yuka and Matties and Khali and Carlies said “we could take a shortcut throughout the forest.”
” What a brilliant idea but I’ve heard that it’s spooky” gasped Khan shivering with fear. “That was in a silly fairy tale or it was either in your dreams” responded Yukha, Matties and Carlies confidently. When they got halfway through the haunted forest bats quirked Kookaburras jumped on the twigs making an awful sound. Damp, decaying leaves fell down off the long,
prickly, brown twigs. Soon they were lost!
Quickly they made a glowing, huge, red fire. After a minute they all thought no one was going to rescue us. “I told you we shouldn’t go this way” moaned Khali. Then they heard people saying loudly. “Any one in there we have come to rescue you?” Soon they all jumped in joy and they all shouted happily “yes yes there are.” After a minute or so the people found them it was Khali
and Carlies tribe. They said in a surprise that it was them “what happened?”
“It’s a long story” said Matties and the others. “Well at least you’re alright
though.” said the tribe. Mysteriously the terrifying Bunyip was seen again but
as a lovely person as the police indictated!!

THE BUNYIP

Kylie beaten bronze face turned quickly towards the scorching, yellow bright sun as she trekked slowly with her fishing basket and rod to the quiet, watery lake which she visited. It was far far away, in the Australian bush, surrounded by huge swaying cool bah trees, like towers, and giant, green ferns. Steel blue grey like a big lake.
As she settled carefully at the lakes warm edge suddenly she saw a huge shape coming towards her from the corner of her eye. Quickly something fierce and scary kidnaped Kylie Burnum Kylies friend was getting worried because kylie didn’t come back to the camp. So he went to look for her. He found her fishing tool by the lake he walked to the cave and crept in. He saw kylie being held captive by the Bunyip . He had to think of an idea to free her.
Just in time Burnum, turned fast and sprinted towards the surrounding dense forest. Out of the water the Bunyip was a rather slow, lumbering creature but he could flap his fluffy, furry wings to increase his fast running speed if he needed to. Burnum however, like his name was a great worrier and athlete and was soon safe in a circle of gnarled shadowy trees. There in the centre sat Kylie.
“You took your time, I thought you would never get here!” replied kylie terrified, kylie explained that lumery fears scary Bunyip had chased her from the deep lake, angry that she had been fishing his favoute silver fish. Every time she tried to escape the circle of shadowy trees seemed to close in and branches and branches like evil fingers. But Burnum had an idea.
The Bunyip was asleep so Burnum removed the flint from around his neck. And saved kylie from the cave by getting the key from the draw in the cave and unlocking it. And tried to remove the stone to get out of the cave and then went back to the camp.
In the morning the Bunyip , woke up and, found that kylie and Burnum had escaped from their cage and went back to the camp. But the Bunyip didn’t care because he didn’t want to have them in his cave anymore because they were mean. Back at the camp Kylie was sitting down with her friends and having fun eating marshmallows. Bunyip was sitting down eating mud that was his favoute food. He wasn’t having any fun at all Kylie and her friends were looking at the wonderful trees like towers and listening to the funky radio then they got dressed into costumes and had a party even one of them dressed up as Bunyip . Then they never saw the Bunyip again!!!!!!!!.

Cobar and the Bunyip

Cobar and his dad were extremely poor so they had to go fishing at the revolting lake in the deep dangerous jungle! Cobar, which meant fearless, went down to the lake but he didn’t come back with any fish instead they had disappeared! Where have they gone? The entire village were puzzled normally Cobar and his dad come back with a bucketful of slimy, silver fish, so they sent for one of their most fearless warriors!

Burnum, which meant great warrior, left for the search of Cobar and his dad. Burnum came to the water’s edge but suddenly a huge, ferocious Bunyip appears, as if by magic! Then the Bunyip hunted Burnum around the deep, murky lake several times until the Bunyip flopped back into the lake and disappeared.

Just in time Burnum, rotated and dashed into the deep, menacing jungle. Out of the water the Bunyip was rather slow, plodding beast. He was better off swimming than walking. Burnum trudged on some more until he came to a dark, gloomy cave. He stepped inside and he found Cobar and his dad but they were tied together with a dead snake! Burnum untied Cobar and his dad. Cobar is worried they will never escape from this horrible, dark cave but Burnum had a plan, he told Cobar and his dad.

He told Cobar and his dad to go and collect some long tree branches. Burnum lit a fire and got out his bow. Cobar and his dad came back with extremely long branches. Burnum placed the ends of the branches into the fire and fired them up into the sky so the villagers would see them and passing dirt vans would see them to. This was a mysterious place!

Just at that very moment the villagers saw the bright, orangy flares so they came to rescue Cobar, his dad and Burnum. Just when Cobar thought they would never escape from this damp, smelly cave, they heard a faint tapping noise, “tap, tap tap”. Cobar thought it was the Bunyips claws pounding on the roof of the cave but then the noise changed, it turned into chatting,
“It sounds like the villagers “Burnum exclaimed gladly. Then the top of the cave started to crack “Quick!" they heard a voice say,
“Run out of the cave before it collapses completely!” another voice said.
They ran out of the cave in desperation hoping that the Bunyip was gone and sure enough it was!

When they got back to the village they celebrated there safe return with a welcome home party. All of the village was there , they lit a fire and gather logs into a circle and Cobar and his dad told the story of the Bunyip , but the bones of the Bunyip were never found !

THE BUNYIP

Burnum, which meant great warrior, disappeared when he went out hunting in the deep dark forest. A really thoughtful man called Cobar realised that Burnum had disappeared so Cobar went out and went to look for him when suddenly the Bunyip appeared out of nowhere and took Cobar back to his cave. The rest of the tribe were worried because they thought Burnum was
fishing but when they went to check he was gone.

That afternoon Burnum, who is a great warrior was born to be adventurous. Usually Burnum’s name is completely unknown. As soon as Burnum saw someone approach he was so excited when he thought someone had approached but it was only the Bunyip and then Cobar came running to save Burnum but Burnum was guarded by the Bunyip and mythical trees. The Bunyip was 4 times the size of hunting dogs, it had 4 giant legs, tusks of a wild boar and a really stumpy tail.

Later that evening Cobar, turned and sprinted towards surrounding dark forest. Luckily for Burnum Cobar was super quick so Cobar would be able to get past the Bunyip and all of the mythical trees. ‘’you took your time, I thought you would never get here!’’ Burnum exclaimed terrified, Burnum explained about what had happened the big, ugly Bunyip had chased him from a deep, dark lake all the way back to the Bunyip’s cave. The Bunyip was snorting burbling really loudly it could be heard miles away and the rest of the tribe heard it and were really worried.

Quickly, Burnum removed the flint from around his neck. Cobar lit the flint and the smoke began to fill up the sky from the small, orange fire.

The very next morning Cobar rescued Burnum and they tried to get back to the camp but they got lost so they kept walking but they didn’t realise they were walking in circles. They were scared because the mean, ugly Bunyip was right in front of them and they ran all of the way back to the
secluded lake where they started. ‘’Go around the Bunyip we won’t get eaten!’’

Burnum gulped, because Burnum and Cobar were lost they lit a fire and waited for the tribe to appear. After a a couple of hours Cobar said ‘’they are never going to come!’’ But then loads of people came and it was the tribe. They were so excited to be going home. When they got home they lit the camp fire and fell asleep.

Later that day the tribe woke up and went fishing they all kept eating their favourite fish, which was silver bucket fish.

The Vicious Bunyip

The Vicious Bunyip
Amalie, meaning forest, went out for a long walk in the dark, gloomy forest.Amalie had a dark, bronzed face with hair like white, fluffy clouds. She went for a walk to get some fresh air. As she entered the gloomy forest Kookaburras laughed and squawked up high in the trees above her. Next to the path where Amalie was standing was a cascading waterfall leading into a revolting lagoon. The lagoon water was as green as emeralds glittering against the sun. Surrounding the lagoon were green, mossy rocks. Suddenly a vicious Bunyip appeared out of the green lagoon! Amalie was really scared that she started to shiver.
Later that same afternoon Kali decided that he was going to find his wife, who had never returned, He was just going to enter the dark, gloomy forest but before he could even take one step the same Bunyip who had taken his wife became face to face with him. Luckily Kali escaped the Bunyip and Kali found Amalie in a dark, gloomy cave guarded by evil, vicious baby Bunyips. Bunyip was very angry and made a deafening roar and threw Kali away from Amalie but while Bunyip wasn’t looking Kali crept up behind Bunyip and tied him up very tightly with a very strong chain.
While the fierce, ferocious Bunyip was tied up the vicious, evil baby Bunyips were closing in on Kali. The baby Bunyips could not breathe fire yet but they were experts at whacking humans with their dagger like tails. When the blue, scaly baby Bunyips were trying to set the huge adult Bunyip free, Kali quickly ran over to Amalie and untied the brown, strong rope that was wrapped around her really tightly. Just in time Kali untied the rope and set her free. All the baby Bunyips tried to hit Amalie and Kali but they jumped and ducked like they were in an obstacle race…but no it was nothing like an obstacle race it was much more terrifying. Although they finally escaped the Bunyips they kept chasing Kali and Amalie.
The tribe were puzzled when Kali and Amalie did not return when the tribe expected them to. The tribe were all thinking hard about where Kali and Amalie could be so the tribe all sat down on the damp, brown logs and decided that the whole tribe were all going to find them. After a while one person from the tribe shouted out,
“I have found them!”
Everybody else was so relieved that Kali and Amalie were safe and not injured. Also Kali and Amalie were happy because the tribe had found them. Then the whole tribe started to walk home.
Finally when they got home to their tribe they had a huge celebration party. Although mysteriously the Bunyip was never ever seen again!
